He is a Master Mariner with over 28 years of experience in the shipping industry, and started his sailing career with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), Japan, until his command & remained in this position for the last 5 years with Nissen Kaiun Co Ltd, Japan. In 2015 he came ashore and joined Transworld Group & later held senior management roles including Jt.Managing Director in one of the leading ship management companies in India.

A Master Mariner with over 27 years of experience in shipping, sailing his way through with the world’s leading independent ship owner on all types of vessels including ULCV’s, and rising the ranks to Master, a position he held for more than the last five years at sea. Umesh came ashore in 2017 and held senior management roles, Including Managing Director in one of the leading ship management companies in India, responsible for day-to-day operations of the vessel’s, developing and overseeing the businesses within the company. He has a flair for solving problems and breaking down complex issues.

A seasoned Master Marine with extensive sailing and shore-based ship management experience. He specialized in optimizing commercial operations, fleet management, and revenue growth across bulk carriers, log carriers, container ships, PCTC, and various marine assets. With expertise in strategic planning, market analysis, and contract negotiations, he has successfully overseen multimillion-dollar projects and enhanced fleet utilization. He excels in stakeholder management, collaborating with Ship owner, Charterers, Terminals, Mining Majors, Vetting Companies, and Insurers. Also plays a vital role in corporate strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency. His forward-thinking approach ensures long-term business growth and operational excellence.

Asokavarthanan honed his in-depth marine engineering skills with 20 years of sailing experience on board various types of vessels, before taking up a management role ashore. He is fully committed towards sustainable marine engines, renewable energy and MARPOL compliances. He is in charge of recruitment of Engineers, in addition to his other responsibilities.

A graduate with 10 years of sailing experience as an Marine officer, and later having a experience of working with leading ship manning companies of India in recruitment, including Assistant General Manager and is a luminary in the maritime profession.

He started his career as an office executive, later promoted to Assistant General Manager in one of the leading ship management companies in India, looking after the day to day operations of the vessels including crew change planner, crew changes, travel, visa, updating the crew software and handling DGS, India, e-Migrate system.
